“ Nice little Yakiniku, K-BBQ style restaurant right off the western side of Ebisu Station. Entrance is a "blink and you'll miss it" and since we did not have a reservation, was not sure if they were going to allow us in. Nice atmosphere, though super dark with super steep stairs. Beef is not A5 Wagyu, but excellent quality with a variety of cuts for self burnination. Waiters were very courteous and assisted us with english menu. Affordable as well. With one side, Beef set, three bowls of rice and a fu-fu drink, came out to about 8,700 yen. Not bad. Came with free ice cream and green tea chaser as well. ”

“ I’m not a Yakiniku expert, but Toraji feels high class. The atmosphere is quiet and refined, with stone facade walls; even the entrance has a mini rock zen garden. Prices are definitely high, but the quality of meat is also extremely excellent. We went a-la carte instead of eating the sets, which allowed us to focus on the meats we liked. The 3 types of Beef Tongue was the highlight of the night, and the Harumi & Flank Steaks were fantastic as well. We ordered 4 meat dishes for 2 and with rice, that was a very filling meal. Service is absolutely excellent — as always, a bit of patience is helpful. Ice cream is complimentary and they’ll also teach you the best way to grill. ”
